Removing the largest tree in Blue Earth, MN

A severe thunderstorm hit Blue Earth, MN in the summer of 2018 and caused damage throughout the town, but the damage hit closer to home for one particular resident and also one famous arboreal resident. The largest tree (cottonwood) in Blue Earth was struck by lightning causing an explosion along its trunk and sounding "like a bomb blast." The giant tree was estimated to be over 100-feet tall and over 100-years old.
